Garbage is picked up at residences in the City of Carthage twice weekly. 

 

The City of Carthage provides non-hazardous solid waste disposal services to business in the City of Carthage including the Leake County Industrial Park.  The cost of this service to business is negotiated on a case-by-case basis based on volume, tonnage and type of solid waste to be disposed.  Current rates are as follows:

 

            Small Commercial                  $27.00 per month

            Medium Commercial              $65.00 per month

            Large Commercial                  $95.00 per month (with 1 dumpster)

            Extra Large Commercial         $200.00 per month (with 2 dumpsters)         

           

Town of Walnut Grove

 

Garbage is picked up at residences in Walnut Grove twice weekly.  The cost of residential garbage collection is $8.00 per month.  The cost of this service to business is negotiated on a case-by-case basis based on volume.  Current rates are as follows:

 

            Small Commercial                 $15.00 per month

            Medium Commercial             $59.00 per month

Town of Lena

 

Garbage is picked up at residences in the Town of Lena once a week.  The cost for residential garbage pick-up is $96 per year.   Waste Management and BFI provide solid waste disposal for commercial and industrial business within Lena. 

 

Leake County

 

Garbage is picked up at residences in Leake County once a week.  Contact the Road Manager at 601-267-4123 for exact day of the week for pick up.   The cost for residential garbage pick-up is $96 per year.

 

A rubbish landfill is operated by the county and is located on Waggoner Road, open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm except holidays.
